On May 1, 2021, the traditional annual May international “Alpiniad – 2021” will start in Bishkek, organized under the leadership of the Department of Tourism with the assistance of the involved government agencies and tourism associations of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the press service of the tourism department, the alpiniad is held to popularize mountaineering, rock climbing, ice climbing, sustainable tourism, improve the skills of athletes and rescuers of the public rescue squad, as well as promote a healthy lifestyle and improve the health of the population.
“Within the framework of this event, it is planned to hold a number of actions, flash mobs, including cleaning the territory from solid waste,” the message says.
It is specified that only teams of at least 5 and no more than 10 people, consisting of climbers, teams of physical culture or sports clubs, tourist or any interested enterprises and educational institutions, are allowed to participate in “Alpiniad – 2021”.
The age of participants on the categorical route (Komsomolets peak) must be at least 16 years old, according to the rules of mountain climbing of the Kyrgyz Republic, approved by the Federation of Mountaineering, Rock Climbing and Ice Climbing of the Kyrgyz Republic. In the case of an uncategorized route, children must be accompanied by an adult.
Climbing on all routes is carried out by the entire team. If one team member is eliminated during the ascent, the entire team is eliminated. At certain sections there will be points of registration and control of the passage of the route by a group. At the finish there will be an instructor who will register the teams’ ascent time.
