The aim of creation of Aarhus Center is the quality improvement of principles and obligations, proclaimed in the Aarhus Convention “On the access of information, on public participation in decision-making process and on access to justice on the questions, concerning ecological environment” in 2001, (The law of KR of 12.01.2001. №5).

Ozone Center of Kyrgyzstan

Ozone is formed on the basis of the memorandum signed between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (Minitserstvo Ecology and Emergencies) Environment Fund of UNEP. Centre is an institution operating in the framework of the obligations of the Kyrgyz Republic under the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer and the implementation of state programs ODS phase-out in the Kyrgyz Republic. Centre operates as a non-profit organization nepresleduyuschaya a profit.


Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences

The Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences was founded in 2002 by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the German Research Center for Geosciences, Potsdam, Germany. The research is conducted in the following areas: geodynamics and geo hazards; climate, water and geo-ecology; usage and protection of resources. Attention is paid to creation of technical infrastructure and information management, education, training and professional qualification of the researchers.

Regional Mountain Center of Central Asia

The objectives of the Regional Mountain Center of Central Asiaare to promote cooperation between the Central Asian states in the preservation of mountain ecosystems, the sustainable use of their natural resources and the improvement of the socio-economic living conditions of the population of mountainous areas, including through the provision of scientific and information support and training of specialists.



The Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) is an independent, non-political and non-for-profit international organisation with regional mandate to assist the Central Asian governments, regional and international stakeholders in addressing environmental and sustainability challenges across Central Asian region and Afghanistan.
